New Presentation: How Non Profits Can Tap The Power Of The Social Web

Today, I was privileged enough to be invited by Jennifer Stewart at More Than Words to speak at a gathering of her colleagues of local non-profits. The focus of the meeting was to understand how non-profits could tap the power of the social web to further their businesses, be it awareness, engagement, donations, and on.

Given that in the echo chamber of marketing and advertising, we talk about this topic all the time, I was stressed from the beginning about whether or not I would be able to provide anything truly unique or interesting to this group, something valuable that they would be able to take and actually put to use on the job.

However, as we got into it, it became clear that everyone there was ready for a dialogue, ready to learn, and happy to engage on any topic that came up during our conversation. I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I went into the event, but I came out having learned a tremendous amount from everyone in attendance. I can only hope they feel they learned something from me. Overall I think I was able to provide a sampling of case studies and best practices to work from, and hopefully substance that leads to further dialogue .

Would love to hear any and all thoughts on this presentation, as I'm sure it could've been better. What might be missing, what's wrong with it, what could be improved.

...thoughts?
